Equal Pay Day

Our first-ever Women in the Workplace Report is being released on March 15th. We picked this date because March 15th will mark the day when, on average, women will have earned what their male counterparts earned from January to December of the previous year. Equal Pay Day was originally created by the National Committee on Pay Equity in 1996 as a public awareness event to illustrate the gap between men's and women’s wages.

In Indiana, the average pay gap between a man and a woman is $12,460. For Allen County, that number is $15,590. The numbers get worse when we look at diverse communities.
